On the HMC vocational school for wood, furniture and interior the focus lies on making sure that these future craftsmen and designers obtain skills that they can keep developing during the rest of their life. Change in their profession will be a certain factor, as it will be for many design professions. It is the innovative approaches of the new buildings in Ørestad, both interior as exterior, that we want to add to these future professionals’ toolbox.

We kicked off the tour by visiting Tietgen Dormitory, which received the Danish Wood Award in 2006 and even has a big wooden workshop itself, where the students can experiment under supervision. Later on, we visited three Bjarke Ingels Group projects: Mountain housing and VM-housing (with JDS) and last but not least, the inspiring 8 house. We look forward to welcome HMC next spring again!
